Under What Circumstances will the Unemployment Commission Honor Income Assignments?

The Unemployment Commission will honor Income Assignments if they are for the collection of debts incurred for necessaries furnished to the claimant or the claimaints spouse or dependants. Even this is limited to to merchants who sell necessary food and clothing to a family. Also, any child support debt which food stamps over issuances has created can be deducted from unemployment benefits. All other support, including spousal, cannot be collected using an income assignment and the Unemployment Commission.

How Will I Know Whether The Commission Chooses to Honor My Assignment?

The Unemployment Commision, once properly served, will send you a letter letting you know whether they have accepted and will honor your income assignment or have chosen not to honor the assignment.
