HON. CARL FUNDERBURK is a Special Judge in the Oklahoma Fourteenth Judicial District in Tulsa County, handling a family law docket. Judge Funderburk was appointed to the bench in September 2005, after serving 3 ½ years as Tulsa County's Juvenile Court Referee. Prior to his appointment as Referee, Judge Funderburk spent five years in the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office as a felony prosecutor.
Judge Biography
Carl Funderburk has worked as a lawyer; he served time in the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office as an assistant district attorney. He was first assigned to the Juvenile Bureau from the DA's office, then appointed Referee, and then promoted to Special Judge.
Before beginning his legal career, Carl Funderburk served as director of the Westside YMCA. As director, he designed and implemented programs for children, many from economically depressed families. He embraced those children and their families in an atmosphere of his larger YMCA family.
