The Hughes County staff consists of 3 staff members including an A.D.A., support staff, and an investigator. From time to time additional attorneys and/or support staff are reassigned from Pontotoc or Seminole County to Hughes County as necessary. <br />

=District Attorney Biography= <br />

District Attorney Chris L. Ross was born June 1, 1957, to Bill and Janice (Hobbs) Ross in Lawton, Oklahoma. He served as an Assistant District Attorney for twenty-six years before being appointed District Attorney by Governor Brad Henry effective January 1, 2008. Ross has prosecuted over 25,000 criminal cases during his career, including 48 homicide cases that resulted in 47 convictions and one hung jury. All homicide defendants convicted by Ross remain incarcerated. Ross has been recognized as one of the top prosecutors in the State of Oklahoma, and is frequently asked to train prosecutors in Oklahoma and other states. He has taught courses for the prosecutors' associations in Florida, Tennessee, Colorado, Missouri and Illinois, as well as on the national level at the National Advocacy in South Carolina.<br />
