The District Attorney's office prosecutes violations of the criminal laws of Oklahoma; institutes proceedings to protect abused and neglected children; prosecutes juvenile offenders; secures care and treatment in mental commitment cases; serves as legal advisor to all county elected officials; appears before the appellate courts of Oklahoma and the federal courts; and provides services to victims and witnesses to ensure their fair treatment in the criminal justice system.

=District Attorney Biography=
----
District Attorney Emily Redman joined the District Attorney's Office in 1992 as a law clerk while she was a student at the University Of Oklahoma School Of Law. During her career, Redman has prosecuted a wide range of cases, with a special emphasis on violent crimes, including crimes against children. Redman currently serves on the Coordinated Community Response Team for the investigation and prosecution of domestic violence.In addition to her professional responsibilities, Emily Redman is active in the community, serving on several boards and committees. Redman is currently a Director of the Durant Lions Club, serves as an officer for Chapter G.V. of the P.E.O. sisterhood, was a member of Leadership Durant, Class I and Leadership Oklahoma, Class XXI.
