Oklahoma County District Courts. Each of Oklahoma's seventy-seven (77) county district courts have their records available online though one of the two Web sites noted below:

Oklahoma Municipal Court. Each municipal (City) court handles its own records and very few if an have their dockets and court minutes available online. Contact the court's clerk for information or records from a municipal court.

How to Get Court Records in Oklahoma

How do you obtain a court record in Oklahoma? The simple answer is that you contact the court clerk. But, there are hundreds of courts and therefore hundreds of court clerks in Oklahoma. You have to determine which court clerk you contact depending on which court entered the record and the type of record you need. All of the courts in Oklahoma probably fall into one of the categories below:

Federal Courts in Oklahoma. There are ninety-four (94) federal district courts in the United States and three of them are in Oklahoma. No other state has three (3) federal district courts. Federal courts handle all bankruptcy cases, Federally prosecuted criminal cases, and some civil cases. Federal court records are available online through the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), at a cost of eight cents a page, but only to those properly registered. County District Courts. The State of Oklahoma is divided into 77 counties, each with its own district court. Most court records that people look for (like marriage, divorce, paternity, adoption, probate, and guardianship records) can be found from the court clerk in the applicable county. Criminal cases prosecuted in the name of the State of Oklahoma are handled in the applicable county district court. Each county district court in Oklahoma has its docket and court minutes available online, either through the | Oklahoma Supreme Court Network or the | Oklahoma District Court Records. Some records are not publicly available, such as adoption cases and guardianship cases.
Municipal Courts. Minor criminal offenses, such as traffic tickets and misdemeanors can be prosecuted in municipal courts. Each city in the State of Oklahoma has its own municipal court, each with its own records and procedures. This author is not aware of any municipal court in Oklahoma that has its records available online. So, to obtain records from a municipal court you will want to contact the particular municipal court clerk.
Workers' Compensation Courts. Oklahoma has two (2) workers' compensation courts, but each court complies the records together in one system at the workers' compensation court in Oklahoma City. Workers' compensation court records are not available to the public and one must have a proper reason and fill out the proper applicable to receive the records. Administrative Courts. The State of Oklahoma has many administrative branches, some of which have courts. The more popular administrative court would be the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety Court that handles drivers license issues and the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety Child Support Enforcement Courts. Records from administrative courts are not publicly available online, so for information on obtaining the records you should contact the administrative court.
