Oklahoma Changes Child Support Guidelines in 2009

As an Oklahoma attorney practicing in the area of family, I am sure you aware that drastic changes to the Oklahoma Child Support Guidelines went into effect on July 1, 2009. With changes to the shared parenting adjustment and a new deduction for prior born children, inter alia, the old online child support calculators no longer provide accurate results in many circumstances.

- Cash Medical. The new Oklahoma child support guidelines provide that where neither party is providing health insurance coverage for the children and health insurance is not available the court shall order cash medical support in addition to the child support. However, it is yet to be seen how Oklahoma judges will apply this provision and therefore it has not yet been added to the EsquireEmpire child support calculator.
