District Attorney Biography
District Attorney Bret Burns graduated from Anadarko High School in 1986. He then obtained a business degree from OU and a law degree from OCU. As a prosecutor, Bret has successfully prosecuted over 75 jury trials. Most of those trials were for violent crimes like murder, rape, molestation and drug trafficking. Those jury trials have resulted in nine (9) Death verdicts, twelve (12) Life Without Parole verdicts and over twenty-five (25) Life sentences. Bret has served as a board member and Past-president of the Chickasha YMCA (2002-2006), Chickasha School Foundation (2001-2008), Grady County Bar Association and the Grady County Child Advocacy Team. He is a member of Chickasha Rotary, Oklahoma District Attorney’s Association Board of Directors, Oklahoma Association of Narcotics Enforcers and the Grady County Cattlemen’s Association.
