Judge Biography


    • HON. JOHN M. KANE IV is a District Court Judge in the Oklahoma Tenth Judicial District in Osage County. Judge Kane was appointed to the bench by Governor Henry in 2004. Judge Kane serves as the rules chairman of the Northeast Judicial District, and has actively worked with local leaders to institute Osage County's first Drug Court. He previously served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of Human Services Child Support Division; as an assistant district attorney in the Child Support Division for Osage, Pawnee, Washington and Nowata counties; and as a city attorney for the Town of Wynona and the Town of Burbank. He earned his B.S. degree in agriculture economics and accounting at Oklahoma State University and his J.D. degree at the University of Oklahoma School of Law. He practiced family law for 17 years prior to taking the bench in 2004.
