Federal Courts in Oklahoma
- United States District Courts. There are ninety-four (94) Federal district courts in the United States of America and three of them are in Oklahoma. No other state has three (3) federal district courts and the reason Oklahoma has an extra district court stems from Oklahoma's historical Indian territories. Oklahoma is divided geographically by County into three different districts, one for each of the Federal district courts in Oklahoma:
- Northern District of Oklahoma Federal Court is composed of the following Oklahoma counties: Craig, Creek, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Rogers, Tulsa, Washington.
- Western District of Oklahoma Federal Court is composed of the following Oklahoma counties: Alfalfa, Beaver, Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Cimarron, Cleveland, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Garfield, Garvin, Grady, Grant, Greer, Harmon, Harper, Jackson, Jefferson, Kay, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Major, Noble, Oklahoma, Payne, Pottawatomie, Roger Mills, Stephens, Texas, Tillman, Washita, Woods, Woodward.
- Eastern District of Oklahoma Federal Court is composed of the following Oklahoma counties: Adair, Atoka , Bryan , Carter, Cherokee, Choctaw, Coal, Haskell, Hughes, Johnston, Latimer, LeFlore, Love, McCurtain, McIntosh, Marshall, Murray, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Pittsburg, Pontotoc, Pushmataha, Seminole, Sequoyah, Wagoner.
